Some observers fear the momentum in restricting abortion rights could move northwards into Canada. The law restricting abortion in Canada was declared unconstitutional in 1988. But hospitals and doctors can't be forced to perform the procedure. That means access outside of major metropolitan centres in Canada is still very uneven.
